We look at data with the hope of learning something about ourselves or our actions. But how can we quantify our hopes or what we aspire to be? What themes would we find, and how would they be related?
I wanted to build a world to float from one such thought to next and discover all the connections. For data, I used the mottos of colleges and universities using a list scraped from Wikipedia, because what exemplifies our ideals better than the words carved into our stone towers (I was also considering a corpus of fortune cookies, but this seemed more interesting).
Click a word then take a moment to meditate on it. See what thought it leads you to. Then, use another word in that thought to float over to another usage. Or, pick an unrelated word. See where the ideas and ideals take you, and find delight when two separate webs link up.
